ISABELA REGULATOR LAKE

 

 

LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION


This dam this located like a two miles to the south of the town of Isabela. It is arrived at the same one by Highway PR-112 from Isabela. The Lake is formed by earth docks that incorporate an impermeable membrane to guarantee retention of the dam and they protection it of the docks. Its normal capacity is of 399 acre feet and has a height of 42.3 feet.

 

USE AND HISTORY

The dam that forms the reservoir was designed and constructed in the 1995 for the Puerto Rico Sewer and Water Supply Authority (PRASA) by the companies Capacete, Martín and Associates and the Las Piedras Construction, respectively. The water that nourishes east lake obtains from the Moca channel of the Irrigation District of Isabela, which happens the dam South Alongside the dam. The waters of the Lake are used mainly for domestic consumption in case of repairs or maintenance of the irrigation channels. The operation of the dam is in charge of the Irrigation District of Isabela. The PRASA is responsible for the maintenance of Dam.
